This is Sarathy, Consutant, Mobile Solutions, CI.COM (P) LTD., India.
I have completed my B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) in Mathematics by 1998 in ANJC College (Autonomous) Sivakasi. I had Pascal as a subject in the final year and was writing simple programs…(Centigrade to Fahrenheit) and was really fascinated with it!!! Believe me…fascinated with it.
As a mathematician to see the complicated algorithm getting solved in a fraction of a second was something amazing. Then we bought a new home computer & my brother showed me the power of Internet! Wow! That time with a dial up connection at home…together we used to browse all night…we had a tough time to convince my father for the telephone bills that time.
Then I decided to do MCA (Master of Computer Applications) in the same college. I used to be in the either of the 2 places ….1. Class room 2.cricket ground! I had no clue how the 2.5 years had passed….it was quick.
Then came the time for the final year project. I came to Chennai by Dec’ 2001 and got a project in CI.COM (yes, same company, I am still here !). I did a project in Business Intelligence with SQL Server OLAP – analytical services. (Don’t ask me now…I have come a long way away from this 
).
After successful completion of the project, CI offered me a “Software Engineer – Trainee” job which was fine considering the slowdown in IT during that time.
The journey with CI started by Monday, 14-May-2001…it is now more than 6 years ! During this journey, I have been in few positions.
I have been as,
• Software Engineer trainee
• Senior Software Engineer (Got a double promotion! )
• Systems Engineer
• Senior Systems Engineer
• Associate Consultant
• Consultant (from mid of 2006)
All these years I have been leading (yes, right from 2003) a team – termed as “Mobile team” – now we are calling “Mobile Division” also.
Countries I have visited for attending conferences:
• Canada (Twice – 1. Quebec, 2. Van Cover)
• Australia
• Vietnam
• South Africa
• Botswana
• Sri Lanka
Product Implementation:
• Barbados (1 month)

I am one of the senior most member in sarathy’s team, working with him for more than 5 yrs. I have seen his growth from trainee to a consultant in very short period, it was really amazing. The way he leads the team and decision taking approach was really fantastic. I was really fascinated by the way he browses the internet and his approach in handling the client is unique. Also he is good reader of books and good narrator of what he has read, and good writer for blogs…etc. Not only he is good lead, he is good person by character tending to help everyone and always.
(Secret: All my team members likes him and has a very good respect for him)
